Viaggio nel passato!<\/b> Si trova a ovest di Kythira, nell’insediamento tradizionale e preservato di Mylopotamos Kato Chora. \u00c8 un castello veneziano costruito nel 1565 per la sua posizione strategica e per proteggere gli abitanti del villaggio dai pirati. Al suo interno contava molte case e chiese ed \u00e8 stato abitato fino agli anni 50. Alcune di esse sono conservate oggi, altre in buone condizioni, il che crea per molti visitatori la sensazione di essere trasportati nel passato. All’interno del castello ci sono 9 chiese, di ottima architettura che appartengono al XVI – XVII secolo, e sono Panagia Mesosporitissa, Profeta Elia, Sant’Atanasio, San Giovanni il Teologo, Santi Anargyroi, San Nikolaos, San Ognissanti, San Giovanni Prodromos , e San Demetrio. Il tramonto dal lato ovest del castello \u00e8 considerato il pi\u00f9 bello di Citera con vista sul Mar Ionio.<\/p> <\/div>
