Village Kato Chora
Preservable village of Kato Chora
Located west in Kythira, and is one of the settlements of Mylopotamos. This is the first settlement of the village that was built there because of the protection from pirates which offered its location, tucked away in the hills but also with the view to the sea. The settlement still preserved old medieval houses authentic examples of traditional architecture of Mylopotamos and some of them are among the oldest in Kythira. In the village square there is the English school, which was built during the British rule. Therein lies the Venetian castle with houses inside preserved in relatively good condition, and several Byzantine churches. The settlement is characterized preservable and layout reveals a great architectural interest. The sunset from the castle feel of the most beautiful in Kythira.
