The Traditional Guesthouse Porfyrousa housed in a building built during the Venetian rule and was stately residence. Located at the entrance of the medieval village Mylopotamos between rich natural environment. The village in the hinterland of Kythira and just 5 km from the nearest beach Limnionas is one of the most beautiful villages with the longest history and the most traditional buildings on the island.
The building is made of as before, without emulsion paints and varnishes.
The hostel was renovated in 2000 and renovated in 2007 with traditional materials and ecological paints. It is very cool in summer and very warm in the winter after the walls in many places beyond one meter thick. The furniture is made of wood from local cabinet makers and are replicas of old traditional designs. Everywhere surfaces stone emerges and wood. The fireplace provides warmth in winter.

From this summer the Vines Wine snack bar comes propose wonderful flavors of fine cuisine lovers.
Located within the square, at the entrance of the village Milopotamos, between an idyllic environment of the green valley with trees, and tables under century-old pine trees.
Here you can enjoy your breakfast with all kinds of coffee, and also have a special lunch or dinner choosing from a sophisticated menu with a focus on Mediterranean cuisine, accompanied by the raki from organically grown grapes and organic wine from the "Domaine Porfyrousa "and a wide variety of beer, which will surely satisfy even the most demanding....
