Beaches of Kythira.
The beach Fyri Ammos at Kalamos is the first to be awarded by the Blue Flag for its clean waters and the natural environment, recently followed by the same award the Lagada to the north of the island. In Kythira the beaches are famous for their warm clear waters, some are small but picturesque as the Chalkos in the south east, or in the south west Melidoni, the Fournoi to the north and west side the Kalami beach ideal for hikers.
There are beaches that we could call them the hidden, because it is accessible only by boat. But if you and your family want to have more comfort, then certainly looking beaches like Palaiopolis which is the largest in Kythira, Agia Pelagia and Lagada in the north, in the south secular Kapsalis. For those who like dives and exploration can make them run on the islet Chitra opposite Kapsalis.
